Threat Stack Rapidly Scales Business, Expands Management Team
Company Expands Customer Base by more than 300 Percent; Appoints Jim Crowley as VP of Sales and Venkat Pothamsetty as VP of Products & Customer Advocacy
BOSTON – September 29, 2015 – Threat Stack, Inc., a leading provider of continuous security monitoring for companies running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), today announced that it has increased its core business by more than 300 percent over the past 12-months. The company is on track to triple its employees and grow deployment of its monitoring service to 10,000 AWS EC2 instances by the end of 2015. Threat Stack already protects the data of leading companies such as Jobcase, Simple Finance, DNAnexus, and StatusPage as representative customer examples. In response to the growing demand for the Threat Stack solution, the company’s rapid expansion of its customer base, increased adoption of its OversightSM service, and internal headcount growth, Threat Stack has announced the appointment of two new senior executives: Jim Crowley as Vice President of Sales and Venkat Pothamsetty as Vice President of Products and Customer Advocacy. Both executives will play a major role in building Threat Stack’s strong year-to-date performance as the company enters the final quarter of 2015. “We work tirelessly to proactively anticipate the needs of all our clients and, as a result, we’ve seen growth that has already exceeded our expectations for this year,” said Brian Ahern, Chairman and CEO, Threat Stack. “While we continue to scale Threat Stack’s business, we have filled two vital positions on our management team with the best in the business. Jim and Venkat both come to us with long lists of successes and immediately demonstrated their value as we prepare to enter our biggest quarter yet.” As Vice President of Sales, Jim Crowley is responsible for driving revenue and new customer acquisition at Threat Stack. An information security veteran who previously held senior leadership positions at notable companies including Imperva and Industrial Defender, Crowley has built several high-performing sales operations, turning early stage software companies such as mValent, Imperva, and Eprise into successful market leaders. As Vice President of Products & Customer Advocacy, Venkat Pothamsetty is responsible for technology innovation and strategic alignment with customer business requirements. Venkat previously led products for two startups, Tollgrade and Industrial Defender, and was a major part of the successful exits for both companies. As Products Lead, Pothamsetty took several products from prototypes to successful mainstream products and, in many cases, defined market categories. Pothamsetty has also led services, pre-sales, solutions, and architecture teams at Cisco and Accenture. Threat Stack will attend the AWS re:Invent conference the week of October 5, one year after the company was launched on stage with AWS CTO, Dr. Werner Vogels.
