Threat Stack Announces Jonaki Egenolf as CMO and Chris Ford as VP of Product Amidst Major Company Growth

Hires two Boston-area industry veterans to expand go-to-market on the heels of $45M Series C

BOSTON — November 21, 2017 — Threat Stack, provider of the industry’s most comprehensive intrusion detection platform for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premise environments, today announced two major additions to its leadership team. Jonaki Egenolf has been named the company’s first Chief Marketing Officer, while Chris Ford joins as Vice President of Product. The new additions to the team will play an integral role in growing the company’s business and offering across all markets.

Egenolf and Ford are the first major hires for Threat Stack following the company’s $45M Series C in September, and will play a key role in the company’s go-to-market strategy as it builds on significant business momentum, including 235% YoY revenue growth. Both hires are veterans of the Boston tech and cybersecurity space, and represent part of Threat Stack’s continued to commitment to investment in the city. The company is currently doubling its office footprint, while planning to grow its employee count by another 30% in 2018 after doubling it in 2017.

Jonaki Egenolf joins Threat Stack from Veracode, where she spent nearly a decade in senior leadership positions, most recently as Vice President of Global Marketing. Prior to that, she held sales and marketing positions at a number of innovative technology companies, including TIAX, Veritas Medicine and Kenan Systems. At Threat Stack, she will be responsible for driving the company’s marketing strategy, and will leverage her global and channel experience to help expand Threat Stack’s business globally.

Chris Ford was most recently Chief Product Officer at Blue Cedar Networks, and spent nearly seven years as SVP of Product Management at Intralinks where he oversaw product strategy and design for the entire organization. Chris will apply his expertise in building security products to Threat Stack’s innovative threat detection platform, with a primary focus on continued innovation and scale to support the company’s rapid growth.

“As we head into AWS re:Invent, the public cloud landscape has never been more complex, and security has never been a bigger concern. A clear goal stemming from the recent funding round was to expand our go-to-market strategy in this dynamic environment, and Chris and Jonaki’s roles are critical to achieving that goal,” said Brian M. Ahern, CEO and Chairman of Threat Stack. “I’m excited to welcome them both to the leadership team, and honored that such talented veterans of the Boston security space have chosen to take the next steps in their careers with us.”

Ford and Egenolf will both be in attendance at AWS re:Invent from 11/21 – 12/7, where Threat Stack’s Chief Security Officer Sam Bisbee will run a session titled Stop Wasting Your Time: How to Spend More Time Focusing on Your Security Risks That Actually Matter. Those interested in meeting with the Threat Stack team at the show can stop by booth #204.
