If you’re paying attention to modern-day software conversations, it often feels like the “old way” has already been put to rest, replaced by shiny new smartphones, tablets, work apps, wearables, the Internet of Things, smart homes and more. Amidst this buzz, it’s actually true – everything does run on software — which means it’s never been more important to make sure that we are protecting our sensitive data and our way of life from theft, loss, misuse…or worse.
Having spent the larger part of my career working with big data, I can say with confidence that cybersecurity is one of the biggest threats facing governments, businesses, and individuals today. To ensure the safety and privacy of our data, we all need to embrace and implement cloud security — with urgency.
This is why I am excited to be a part of the incredibly talented Threat Stack team and am even prouder to announce their $15.3M Series B funding investment! Beyond delivering a downright impressive cloud security platform, Threat Stack is passionately and strategically pursuing an even broader vision, one that contributes positively to the whole ecosystem of security and compliance solutions. Threat Stack’s comprehensive platform provides the complete coverage businesses need to run secure and compliant, in all environments, without sacrificing speed or efficiency.
Simply put, old school approaches to IT security don’t stand up to today’s business risks and demands. Legacy security tools from the nineties that only support static enterprises are fast becoming crippled by cloud infrastructures, and are nearing obsolescence as we speak.
As the economics of scalability, efficiency and productivity drive cloud adoption up each year, we are seeing a huge demand instead for complete, cloud-native security platforms — not just point solutions. This will soon be a requirement. Threat Stack is leading the market by delivering a platform that not only addresses cloud security threats, but makes it easy and accessible for teams to do so every day across industries.
Threat Stack packs a serious punch in this industry. Their team has deep expertise in cloud security, and the platform’s success to date is what has led to today’s new funding announcement. Designed and purpose-built to support today’s cloud infrastructures, Threat Stack is making the job of security and ops teams easier, even in the face of advanced threats that multiply by the minute. What I’m most excited to see this year is how they can not only mitigate existing threats, but help predict and thwart future attacks.
2016 is going to be a big one for the cloud, data analytics, and automating security. Join me in congratulating Threat Stack, and get on board for an exciting year ahead!
