Richard Bejtlich and Chris Wysopal Join Threat Stack Advisory Board

Since starting Threat Stack in November of 2012, it has been our mission to create the most powerful security monitoring and forensics platform built specifically for the cloud. Since then, we’ve been honored and humbled to work with many of the world’s top cloud and security providers and experts.

Now, we’re excited to announce that Richard Bejtlich, CSO of Mandiant, and Chris Wysopal, CTO and co-founder of Veracode, have joined the Threat Stack Advisory board.

For nearly 15 years, Bejtlich has helped many major global organizations stay in business by detecting and responding to digital threats. He previously built and led a 40-member GE Computer Incident Response Team, where he first met and worked with Threat Stack co-founder Dustin Webber. He recently published the book The Practice of Network Security Monitoring, where he explains that, “Threat Stack demonstrates how a cloud-based challenge, like monitoring IaaS platforms, can be met by using the cloud to collect and present NSM data from agents.”

“Cloud Sight from Threat Stack will change the way admins and devops think about cloud server security going forward.”

– Richard Bejtlich

Wysopal, a seasoned security industry vet, was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in IT and is also one of The Top 25 Disruptors of 2013. Introduced to Threat Stack by Atlas Venture partner Chris Lynch, Wysopal immediately saw a need for the cloud security service we were building — Cloud Sight. We’re now using his security technology at Veracode to scan our own software here at Threat Stack.

The state of cloud security monitoring and forensics is still far from where it needs to be, and we look forward to working with Bejtlich and Wysopal as industry thought leaders as we hone in on the next generation of cloud security monitoring.
